Although we are Dogs Trust, we were thrilled when we read the story this morning about Chloe, a cat who went missing six years ago but was reunited with her owner, all because of her microchip!
On April 6th this year, it became compulsory for all dogs in England, Scotland and Wales to be microchipped, and for their owners details to be kept up to date. Chloe's owners made the decision to microchip their cat six years ago, and this commitment has paid off.
We are so pleased that Chloe is home with her family, safe and sound and hope that it encourages everyone to ensure their pets are microchipped, as it is one of the only ways to ensure they could get returned to you should they become lost or stolen.

But after living as a stray Chloe was eventually handed into Cats Protection Centre in Bridgend, South Wales. Her microchip was scanned - and she was reunited with her astonished owner. Rebecca, of Caerphilly, South Wales, said: 'It was a real shock but lovely news to hear that Chloe had been found and was alive and well after so many years.'
